Whether you want to compete, get fit, defend yourself, or just finally do something for you — you belong here.
No experience required. No fitness prerequisite. At Sodiq Yusuff MMA, adults train one complete Mixed Martial Arts system. Striking, grappling, takedowns, clinch work, ground defense, and self-defense principles — all taught together.
This program is for everyone:

Dear Future Champion,
My name is Sodiq Yusuff, and most people know me as "Super" from the UFC. But right now, I'm not writing to you as a fighter. I'm writing to you as a coach, a neighbor, and a man who believes that martial arts can change lives... because it changed mine.
Let me take you back for a moment.
When I was 9 years old, my mother made the hardest decision of her life. She left Nigeria, left 14 of my brothers and sisters behind, and brought only me and my younger brother to America. We landed in Maryland. No money. No connections. No safety net. Just a mother's belief that her boys deserved a shot at something better.
Those first years were rough. I was the immigrant kid. The one with the funny name that teachers couldn't pronounce. The one who didn't understand why American kids talked back to their parents. Back in Nigeria, one of the big cultural values is having a natural respect for your elders. There are specific names and titles for anyone older than you, family or not. So when I saw kids mouthing off to adults, I was confused beyond belief.
I got picked on. I got into fights. And it was in one of those early fights that I discovered something that would shape the rest of my life: the power of standing up for yourself. Not the power to hurt people. The power to earn respect. The power to walk through the world knowing you can handle whatever comes your way.
In fifth grade, I was flipping through channels and landed on Spike TV. The Ultimate Fighter was on. I watched these athletes... and as a kid who grew up on anime like Fullmetal Alchemist and Hunter x Hunter, I saw something I recognized immediately. These were real-life anime characters. Training to get stronger. Working their way to becoming the best fighters in the world. And right there, sitting on my couch in PG County, Maryland, I told my mom: "That's what I want to do when I grow up."
Now, let me tell you something about convincing a Nigerian mother to let her son become a professional cage fighter.
It doesn't happen overnight.
I compared the process to the movie Inception. You just gotta sprinkle the idea in their head slowly. I started with wrestling at Bladensburg High School. Then I told my mom after a semester and a half of college that I was going to pursue fighting full time. I promised her if I failed, I'd go back to school. She was worried, but she supported me. She even drove me to the fighters' house where I'd live for the next couple of years to chase my dream.
Every now and then she'd call and remind me that kids my age were graduating and getting real jobs. But she never stopped believing in me.
I moved into that fighters' house and I was broke. I worked the kids' after-school program at the gym just to survive. The first year was rough. I had to split my time between practices and working with the kids. But the job was flexible. If I had to go to more practices, compete in jiu-jitsu, or fight, they'd work around my schedule.
After the first year, something shifted. I went from not knowing HOW I was going to get to the UFC to knowing I WAS going to get to the UFC. It was just a matter of time. The only way I wouldn't get there was by some kind of divine intervention.
And then it happened.
I went 9-0 as an amateur. Undefeated. I earned multiple championship belts. I signed with the UFC, the biggest fighting organization on the planet. I've competed on the biggest cards in UFC history, including UFC 300. I've earned over $100,000 in performance bonuses. I was featured during Black History Month by the UFC as someone "Paving The Path For The Next Generation." I even got to voice a character named Sunday Adelekan in Disney's Iwaju, the first Disney+ series centered on Nigerian culture and Lagos. All six episodes.
Not bad for a kid from Lagos who showed up in Maryland with nothing.
Opening this school in Waldorf is the most important thing I've ever done outside the Octagon. Because this isn't about me anymore. This is about YOUR family. YOUR kids. YOUR community.
I grew up in this area. I trained in Maryland gyms my entire career. I know what's available here, and I know what's been missing. There is no martial arts school in Southern Maryland where a real, active UFC fighter is on the mat coaching your kids. Where a Disney voice actor is teaching your toddler coordination and discipline in a Parent and Me class. Where your teenager can learn real self-defense from someone who has actually used these techniques at the highest level of combat sports on Earth.
Until now.
I built Sodiq Yusuff MMA for families. Not just for fighters.
For the mom who wants her shy 3-year-old to start building confidence early in our Parent and Me program. For the dad who wants to train alongside his 6-year-old Little Ninja and share something real together. For the parents watching their 10-year-old get picked on at school who need their Junior to know how to handle themselves. For the teenager dealing with social anxiety who needs to discover what they're capable of. For the woman who wants to feel safe walking to her car at night. For the man who hasn't felt truly challenged in years.
I built this school because I know what martial arts did for a scared immigrant kid from Lagos. It gave me confidence. It gave me discipline. It gave me purpose. It gave me a career. It gave me the ability to support my 16 brothers and sisters. And I want to give that same gift to every family in Waldorf, La Plata, Brandywine, Accokeek, Fort Washington, Indian Head, Bryans Road, White Plains... every family in Southern Maryland who wants more for themselves and their children.
That's why I'm making the craziest offer in martial arts:
Come train with us for 30 days.
Completely free.
No contract. No credit card. No obligation.
Just show up, meet our coaches, try our classes, and see for yourself if this is the real deal.
I already know what you'll discover. But I want you to experience it firsthand.
I'll be honest with you about one more thing. I know how much people procrastinate and wait for the "perfect" time to get started. I've seen it my whole life. People who talk about wanting to train but never take the first step. People who say "next month" every month for two years.
I think about the fighters I've trained with who made it to the top. Every single one of them had moments where they didn't want to find the time. Days when they didn't feel like it would pay off. And every single one of them pushed through those moments. That's what separates people who achieve their goals from people who just talk about them.
You don't have to become a UFC fighter. But you do have to take the first step. And I've made that first step completely free, completely risk-free, and completely worth your time.
One of the things my mother instilled in me from childhood is that hard work changes everything. It's been my motivation since I was a kid. Especially now that I have the opportunity to change people's lives through this school, I take that responsibility seriously.
So come see for yourself. You don't have to wait anymore. It's time to take charge, take action, and take a step toward something that could change your family's life.
I hope to see you and your family on the mat soon.
